About this investor

Glencore is a listed commodity producer and trader. Selected investments here include Cerrejón coal, Kazzinc metals, Elk Valley Resources steelmaking coal, Astron Energy fuel, Britain's Britannia Refined Metals refinery and a minority interest in Bunge. [1][2]

This is a selected portfolio, not a complete group-entity register. Ownership figures retain their report dates: 100% Cerrejón and Britannia, 69.7% Kazzinc, 77.4% Elk Valley and 68% Astron South Africa in FY2025. Astron Botswana's 100% belongs to a separate country business. Bunge's approximately 17% is a minority listed-share investment, not subsidiary control. Customers, trading counterparties and brand licences do not establish corporate ownership. [1][2][3]

Each card names the entity invested in. Linked companies and brands can sit below that entity. Stakes use the source’s definition and date; disclosures are selected and do not give a complete portfolio or investor register. Read the investor methodology.

Former holdings & portfolio changes
  • Viterra / Bunge

The merger completed on 2 July 2025. Glencore received 32.8 million Bunge shares, or 16.4% at closing. Bunge later reported approximately 17% at 31 December 2025; Glencore's H1 2026 report still describes its Bunge investment. Viterra is searched under Bunge rather than shown as a separately controlled Glencore subsidiary. [4][2][5]

  • Rio Tinto talks

Rio Tinto announced on 5 February 2026 that it did not intend to make an offer after discussions failed to reach agreement. These talks do not establish Rio Tinto ownership of Glencore. [6]

  • Orion / DRC proposal

The 3 February 2026 announcement was a non-binding proposal for 40% of Glencore's interests in Mutanda and Kamoto Copper Company. This concerns selected asset interests, not 40% of Glencore plc. Completion was not verified in this review, so Orion is not recorded as a current owner. [7]

  • Completed disposals

The H1 2026 report records completion of the Pasar copper-smelter disposal in September 2025. Glencore's production report records sale of the Kidd mine on 1 June 2026. Neither is included in current Glencore holdings here. [5][8]
